How to Find Forgotten Subscriptions

Subscriptions are designed to be easy to start and easy to forget. A free trial becomes a monthly charge, a service goes unused for months, and the charge keeps renewing quietly in the background.

Check Your Statements Line by Line

Go through the last one to two months of bank or card statements and list every recurring charge you see — even ones that seem small.

Ask One Simple Question Per Item

For each subscription: have you used it in the last 30 days? If the answer is no, it's worth deciding whether to keep it, pause it, or cancel it.

Build a Standing List

Once you've found them, keep a running list of active subscriptions with their renewal dates. Reviewing it periodically makes it far less likely for a forgotten charge to quietly continue for months.
